This video was taken in Living Dolls Gogo Bar in Pattaya. Living Dolls is a gogo bar on Walking Street. This video will give you a feel for what the inside of a gogo bar is like. There is plenty that it doesn’t show but it is worth a look.
This video was undoubtedly either filmed by the owner of the bar or after his consent. Do not try to take photos or video inside of any gogo bar. If you are lucky they will only make you delete what you have taken before showing you the door. However, it is more likely that you will get a bit more than you bargained for. There are things that occur in gogo bars in Pattaya that could get the bar in a lot of trouble if they are publically displayed. Bar owners take this issue very seriously because of past experiences.
The Pattaya Beer Garden is an open air bar located just to the north of Walking Street. This video concentrates on the girls who can be found in the bar.
While I am fairly sure that this video is nothing more than fiction it does highlight at least one problem in Pattaya. There is a problem with jet ski operators attempting to extort money from tourists due to damage to jet skis. Some damage claims may be totally fraudulent while others are over-inflated. This scam has been widely reported in the local media.
How it usually works is that a tourist will rent a jet ski. If the renter has a small accident the operator will claim that a lot more damage was done during the accident (ie any preexisting damage with be included). The other alternative is that the claim for repairs will much greater than it will actually cost to make the repairs. The renter will then be intimidated into pay a lot more than what should be paid.
The second incident of extortion is not common in Pattaya. The Thais tend to be a lot less aggressive than depicted in the video. They are far more likely to drug a victim than threaten and carry out violent acts to get money from their victim. Violence does occur but it is not a bit problem as far as robberies are concerned.
Like anywhere you need to be smart in Pattaya. Don’t flaunt your wealth by displays of expensive jewellery, camera equipment and flashing lots of cash. Stay low key, smile and don’t act aggressively. If you follow these rules you will most likely have nothing but fun in Pattaya.
On the weekend of the 13th and 14th of August 2010 the second Pattaya International Fireworks Festival was held on Pattaya Beach. This year’s wireworks display is reputed to be the largest ever seen in Thailand.
Pattaya was very busy over the weekend as many people travelled to the city for the display. On both nights Beach Road was closed to allow many pedestrians to pack the shoreline to watch the display. The final night was opened with an extravagant display in honour of the Queen’s birthday a couple of days earlier.
This video starts off by showing the crowd that gathered for the display before showing some of fireworks display.
This video showcases Thai women. It shows their fun nature sexy nature. The video is not exclusively shot in Pattaya but that is not important for this video. There is not much else to say about this video.
Walking Street is a ladyboy magnet. Ladyboys can be found from early evening right into the early hours of the morning. This video shows some of the many ladyboys who are a tourist attraction on Walking Street. Some of the ladyboys are exhibitionist while others are more sedate. The range from being slightly more than guys dressed up in s dress with a splattering of make up. However, some are very feminine and will fool those not accustomed to seeing them.
A walk down Walking Street later at night is must on any visit for anyone who is visiting Pattaya. There are many interesting things to see and ladyboys are just one of the more interesting things. Just don’t get too drunk or you may give in to temptation and get a surprise in the morning.
This video starts on Beach Road in the early evening with some lovely sunset shots. It continues on to the start of Walking Street. At this point the sign at the entrance of Walking Street can be seen. It then continues onto Walking Street. A lot of the footage was taken on or near Soi Diamond. The video returns to Beach Road at the end of the video.
It would appear that a lot of the video was taken quite early in the evening. Generally there are a lot more people on Walking Street later in the evening. The video is a little slow and could do with some music to liven it up a bit. It does show what can be expected in the area in the early evening.
This is a high definition video taken along Beach Road and Walking Street. It starts on Beach Road and heads towards Walking Street. The sign at the start of Walking Street is shown before heading into the it. Most of the footage is taken around Soi Diamond showing off some of the gogo bars and other bars in the area. The video ends back on Beach Road.
Walking Street is the main nightlife area in Pattaya. The area is populated with many gogo bars, open air bars, discos and other entertainment establishments. At night the road is blocked to traffic allowing easy and safe pedestrian access. On many nights the road is packed with people. Some people come to look, others come to frequent the bars in the area and some come as part of their trade. This video concentrates on the women that can be found on Walking Street, Pattaya.
While it must be remembered that not all the ladies are not out looking for a customer many are. In this video you can see the way the women conduct themselves and get a feeling for the atmosphere that exists in this area.
Be careful as all is not as it seems. Some of the ‘ladies’ in this video are not actually females. See if you can pick the ladyboys in the video. Be particularly careful late at night as many ladyboys hit walking Street in hope of finding a drunk male to offer a surprise.
These two videos, while not great, shows the nature of Soi 8. Soi 8 is a small road that runs between Beach Road and Second Road. It is the second soi to the south of Central Pattaya Road (Pattaya Klang.)
Soi 8 is dominated by open air beer bars. Some of the bars are in complexes while others are individual bars. There are also a few small gogo bars and coyote bars. A couple of years ago a few closed air-conditioned bars opened on the soi but the area wasn’t ready for them and most of them have subsequently closed.
One thing to note in the first video is the number of vendors walking past. This is a feature of sois such as Soi 8. You can be asked to buy a particular item by one person then another person will ask you to buy the same item one minute later even after you told the first one no and they are part of the same group. It does test your patience at times. From the vendor at 1:42 in the first video it appears that this video was taken at about Christmas time.
This soi and the Soi 7 must be visited on a trip to Pattaya. The atmosphere is very different from that of Walking Street and the action is more concentrated that the Soi 2 and 3 area. While the bars are open more or less open 24 hours a day the best part of the night starts at about 9pm. On a good night things can continue until 4am or perhaps even until dawn. There are many small bars to visit but don’t miss the gogo bars even if it is only to cool down on a warm night.
