Songkran in Pattaya is now finished for the year. It seems like the festive gets wilder and wilder every year. Anyone wondering out in the daytime is like to get wet during the one week the the festivities continue for.
Songkran originated in the north of the coutry and spead south only relively recently. Songkran is tradionally a time for cleansing and paying respoect ot elders. It also marks the traditional Thia new year. To most foreigners the festive is marked by the throwing of water over other people. The trowing of water is part of the cleansing process.
This video suggests that it is easy to find a good girl in a bar in Thailand. It is certainly easy to find a lady in a bar but finding a good one is a different story. I hope that video is in jest.
Pattaya is full of ladies who are trying to find a man to become her ‘boyfriend.’ While there is no doubt that there are some good girls in the bars in Pattaya there are far more sharks. The sharks are out for us much as they can get. Some have more that one guy who sends her money so that she does not have to work ‘bar.’ Even with this money many ladies still work bar spinning a web of lies to keep the guys on toe.
The reasons why they do it are varied. Some do it out of sheer greed. While others do it as they understand that there is a short time-frame in which they have to find a farang who will look after them and their family. Many farangs will have the right intentions but due to circumstances can not continue the relationship. Still other farangs will be spinning a web of lies themselves and the girls know this.
The moral of the story is do not come to Pattaya to find a wife and certainly do not believe someone who tells you otherwise. I got a laugh out of this video whether it is just a joke or not. I hope you enjoy it too.
Soi 6 is a small road that runs between Beach Road and Second Road north of Central Pattaya (Pattaya Klang) Road. It is a road notorious for short time bars. A visit to Pattaya is not complete without visiting this soi.
Generally the bars in the soi are small closed bars. Some are like mini-gogo bars while others just have seats, tables and music playing inside. Some bars have areas open to the public. The bars have short time room upstairs. Generally the bars are open between 1pm and 1am.
As you walk down the soi you will be encouraged to enter bars by the female hosts. However, be aware that not everything are as seems and some of the bars have ladyboys in. See how many ladyboys you can see in the video. The encouragement to enter bars ranges from suggestive gestures to physically trying to pull you into the bar. You will get the idea early in the video. Before entering a bar a good suggestion is to select your host before entering the bar. This policy means that guys will walk along the soi until they find a host that they would like to get to know.
The video provides a good insight into the feel of the soi. It spans both day and night and a good selection of the different features of Soi 6. Any man will certainly feel sexy on Soi 6. The video ends with the words love but don’t look for that on this soi.

This video called Pattaya Women – A Tribute focuses on the women in Pattaya. It shows the fun-loving nature of the Thai women. It was shot mainly in Walking Street will some scenes being shot in the nearby sois.
Walking Street is the main nightlife area in Pattaya. On the street there are numerous bars. These include open air bars, discos and gogo bars. There are also many restaurants and other types of shops. It is geared towards nightlife and is not a shopping district even though there are some shops that only open in the day-time. At night the road is closed to traffic hence the name. During the day the place has a completely different atmosphere and almost seems alien.
Many of the bars actively attract customers. Out the front of many businesses there will be people (mainly female) on Walking Street trying to entice people into their establishments. This is many true from the gogo bars but you will also find touts for open beer bars and restaurants. They tend to have their more attractive women as touts but this is not always true.
If you go to Pattaya try to experience as many types of bars as possible. Don’t expect someone to tell you which is the best bar to go to. You will find that you will have your own preferences. Also a bar that is great one night will not necessarily be the best the following night. It can vary greatly
Other the last few years there has been a gradual increase in the number of family tourists that walk Along Walking Street at night. On many nights there appear to be more tourists on Walking Street than those who go for the nightlife. This has increased pedestrian traffic. I guess the people who come for the entertainment spend more of their time in the bars than walking up and down the road.
I like this video because it capture the essence Thai women who frequent the Walking Street area quite well. They are fun-loving and very friendly and oh so sexy.
